PCCI seeks ADB funding for ‘ASEAN hotel’ chain

The “ASEAN hotel” concept involves establishment of affordable tourist accommodation facilities where tourists can book rooms for as low as $30 a night. PCCI president Samie Lim said in an interview that the project would help economic integration efforts in Southeast Asia. “I made a pitch for this concept when I attended an ADB forum in Bangkok earlier this week” Lim said. The ADB held consultation meetings with government private sector and civil society representatives in Bangkok Thailand to review its Long-Term Strategic Framework covering 2001-2015. “ADB people gave a positive response to our ASEAN Hotel but I was asked to present a more detailed study” Lim said… PCCI president Samie Lim said in an interview that the project would help economic integration efforts in Southeast Asia. “I made a pitch for this concept when I attended an ADB forum in Bangkok earlier this week” Lim said. In the Philippines he said the goal was to establish a chain of 50 hotels with 50 to 100 rooms each.
