29–MRE NRTHERN FLIGHTS: Chiang Mai-based SGA Airlines the country’s first commuter carrier will offer daily flights between Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son from Nov 1-30 using a 12-passenger Cessna Grand Caravan propeller plane. The flights are intended to substitute for services suspended earlier this month by the budget carrier Nok Air which is carrying out repairs until late November on its 66-seat ATR 72 aircraft. Yangseenat is visiting America with her husband of 14 years Wolfgang Meusberger who manages three Holiday Inns in Thailand. She met the Austrian native “while attending a summer school on hotel management in Switzerland but the romance started in Thailand” Meusberger said. This is her second visit to Maryville since leaving in 1974. “I now have a 10-year visa and can make multiple entries into the country. I hope to come back more frequently now” she said. Getting a visa in Thailand is now harder than in the past.
