Tabatha Muldoon Business Manager of Hanoi?s Hilton pera Hotel said that as the number of visitors to Hanoi is rising hotels have to increase room prices to match market fluctuations. Some hotels say they upgraded rooms and services commensurate with their price increases. Compared to hotels in Thailand and Malaysia hotels in Vietnam are still 20-30% cheaper. Travel companies are concerned because increasing accommodation prices has forced tour prices up by 30%. Dao Hong Thuong Deputy Director of Vietsky Travel said several groups of European tourists canceled their trips to Vietnam because of this. According to Thuong the number of MICE visitors to Vietnam has clearly gone down. Notably some Vietnamese companies are choosing Thailand for their workshops.

TUdon crozier: HiWe had a very pleasant and inexpensive weekend getaway taking AMTRAK from Kirkwood to Kansas City. Tickets are around $20 each way we got a decent hotel rate downtown and took the MAX (Metro Area Express) bus route to get around. We finally got to see the Country Club Plaza at Christmastime! Total cost for transportation and hotel was $130 for the two of us. AMTRAK goes right into Union Station which is connected to Crown Center so that can be a destination in it’s own. Fun and cheap and easy. We hope to plan a Chicago trip in the same manner in January… dont they have amazing pool parties???Tom Uhlenbrock: Hopefully I will soon be in a pool in Thailand with all those people you must have seen in that photo. I recently published a book ¡Ahora Hablo! Travel Edition "Seven Simple Steps to Authentic Spanish". (ISBN:978-0-9791440-0-4) Last month this book won a Best Books 2007" award form USA Book News.
