During Almond Beach Village’s annual Super Bowl extravaganza known as Big Game Week Chris Forbes the Barbados resort’s general manager said that plans are in place to add about six treatments rooms to the resort’s spa. The spa expansion said Forbes is part of an “aggressive” move to attract more North American guests to the resort which currently has mostly European guests. The hotel can host more than 800 people on the occasion of congresses or seminars in particular with its Pacific Grand Ballroom which can accommodate up to 350 people. The hotel’s convention areas can be customised and privatised to suit any events and include the latest generation of technological equipment with private offices featuring all the office automation resources required (broadband Internet computer rental secretarial and translation services etc.

The new firm was set up six months ago with registered capital of Bt4 million. It is the fourth business unit under the group's portfolio following a financial brokerage company the hotel and the theatre. Suttikorn Jearpaitoon managing director of UF and the theatre said the firm is providing facilities for big meetings and events. It is targeting companies located in the Eastern Seaboard industrial areas as well as in Bangkok.

Massaud the French company behind the venture is billing it as an ecologically friendly way to travel leaving little impact on the environment – and eliminating the need for hotels. Designer Jean-Marie Massaud’s team has been working in conjunction with the French National ffice of Airship Research on the project since 2005. A spokesman for Massaud AurÈlie Ullrich said: “The idea at the heart of this project is that passengers can see fantastic places like Thailand and theCaribbean without the need to build ugly hotels everywhere. “It could land for a few days or for a week if there is a big event going on. “We don’t want to be carrying around gallons and gallons of heavy petrol or diesel and we are looking into fuelling it with some form of gas. ” Mr Massaud said: “The Manned Cloud permits you to explore the world without leaving a trace. Passengers can experience spectacular and exotic places without being intrusive or exploitative.
