Acting on a request from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Thai police on Wednesday arrested Morgan Michelle Hoke 21 at the Cha Cha Villa Hotel on Khao Sarn Road a district famed for its cheap lodgings for backpackers said Police Major General Direk Manolihakul Acting Immigration Commissioner. Authorities revoked Hoke’s Thai visa and are keeping her in the country Immigration Detention centre in Bangkok until she is deported back to the US where she faces an arrest warrant. Hoke and her 26-year-old husband Stuart Michael Romine are suspected of robbing banks in May 2007 in Austin Texas; Roseville California; and Lynwood Washington near Seattle US authorities said. In each case surveillance cameras captured a slender young woman sporting a baseball cap and ponytail.

He is recovering in stable condition at a Thai hospital after spending much of Wednesday in surgery. Punpigu said the taxi the pair were riding in ? a pickup truck with bench seating in the back ? passed by a wooded area about the time Griffioen was shot the Reuters report said. He’s the fourth Canadian to be shot in Thailand in recent weeks. il worker Dale Henry was shot in his home in the southern province of Ranong last week.

The Italian-born Kostner a 40-year resident in Thailand who has been executive chef at the riental Hotel for decades has created a menu inspired by Thai cuisine to cater to the German airline’s premium passengers on Frankfurt-bound flights out of Bangkok and Singapore this year the Bangkok Post newspaper said. Kostner said the menu which is to rotate every two months would include such delicacies as poached prawns pomelo salad with sweet and sour lime dressing lamb curry with three-colour rice and chicken remoulade with pineapple salad. The new Thai menu is part of Lufthansa’s Star Chefs Programme launched in 2000 as part of the second-largest European airline’s strategy of increasing its premier passenger load. Lufthansa prior to its new inflight menu announcement revamped the seating on its Bangkok-Frankfurt route by increasing its business-class seats from 64 to 80 and reducing economy-class seats from 310 to 234. The airline has yet to announce a new menu for economy-class passengers.
