Ammo blast kills at least 5 injures scores

Thai wines win a little latitude
The Australian – Mar 15, 2008
Gaksch says we are precisely at the tropical latitude of 14. 3 degrees north at this vineyard and output from the Khao Yai region has been dubbed "new latitude" wine. It’s a label reminiscent of the "new world" tag once applied to Australian and New Zealand wines (and still seen on some European hotel and restaurant lists) and one imagines Thai winemakers must be working hard to overcome scepticism about these fledgling drops. The winery has been named for the initials of its owner Piya Bhirombhakdi who also runs the massive Singha beer corporation. "Not a bad hobby" one of my fellow travellers says with a smirk. But this vineyard is more than a plaything. Recent international successes with tempranillo shiraz and chenin blanc vintages have made the international wine community reassess the credibility of quality Asian wine.
