Man can’t get travel refund for thwarted trip

Here he had to spend additional money on hotels he had not anticipated. After three days he realized his Japanese visa would expire and he was forced to return to New York. He received a $646 refund for his unused Thailand hotel and an explanation that his airfare could not be returned because he did take a flight albeit not to where he wanted to go. He and friends have been trying to convince Liberty staff that his is an extraordinary circumstance and they should honor their “travel protection” plan. “I am just trying to get him back what he deserves” said Tracey Skane of Woodbury Conn. Her husband Michael was a maintenance mechanic at Friendly’s and the two families became friends. She said she saw an earlier story about Aslam’s aborted plans in The Journal News and got involved when she realized that added to the disappointment her friend wasn’t getting the refund she felt was rightfully his.

Just in November another Thai hotel the Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel  opened for business showcasing the group’s newest premier 5-star brand to the Thai market. Millennium Resort Patong hotel is owned by Phuket Square Company Ltd and managed by M&C. Phuket Square Company Ltd is the owner and developer of the Phuket Jungceylon shopping and leisure complex where the M&C hotel is located. ( Jungceylon is the Portuguese original name for Phuket.

Speaking to some 650 Thai and foreign investors at a Bangkok hotel Mr. Abhisit whose coalition government assumed office December 22 said the BoI is now improving several investment laws in a process aimed at creating a "one-stop service centre and reducing procedures. "ver the long-term the government will also find ways to boost Thailand’s competitiveness and readiness in accepting technology-transfer from overseas he said. Urging investors to have confidence on his government’s policy on education Mr. Abhisit said his administration will provide free primary and higher secondary education to students as well as improving educational quality because he realises that new graduates do not fit with market demands. Stressing that the Thai economy has sustained growth several decades in the past because it is driven mainly by the private sector while the government offers only confidence and good governance Mr. Abhisit said his government is determined to enlarge both the tourism and service sectors which means there is still an opportunity to increase business in Thailand.
