Wachtveitl himself has also received recognition as one of the world’s best general managers including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Hotel Investment Conference (Hicap) in 2006 and more recently the 2008 Independent Hotelier of the World award from Hotels magazine US. The first question that is on everybody’s mind is what he plans to do with himself in his retirement. No doubt he has some ideas though he is keeping them close to his chest. ver the next few months until his actual retirement at the end of May he will be doing his rounds of the European market centering around the ITB in Berlin.

The company audits about 500 hotels annually and those that pass its rigorous safety checks and covert inspections land in a database available to subscribers (subscriptions start at $5000 a year).

This can be controlled with discipline and right thinking. Before you proceed to your planned vacation research about the most popular local foods and learn about calories from books the Internet or your dietician. My client who had a one-week vacation in Thailand last month did not gain weight since she was able to apply some effective strategies we discussed before her break. Eat a moderate breakfastThe best way to prevent eating whatever is available is to eat breakfast. Don’t sleep too late so you can wake up on time and eat the most important meal of the day. As much as possible avoid breakfast buffets but if your hotel booking includes free breakfast set a limit by sticking to your regular breakfast portion which can be a cup worth of complex carbohydrates (rice noodles pasta bread cereals oatmeal) 1-2 cups of fresh fruits 1-2 servings (1 serving size is a deck of cards) of meat fish and or chicken.
