8 per cent for four-star hotels according to the latest Hotel Market Intelligence report compiled by Jones Lang LaSalle. ‘The combination of the ongoing domestic political uncertainty strengthening Thai baht and the global economic deterioration has contributed to the 21. 2 per cent year-on-year decline of Bangkok’s international visitor arrivals’ said Andrew Langdon senior vice president of Jones Lang LaSalle hotels division in Thailand. Bangkok has had its fair share of political excitement in recent months. Anti-government protestors seized the capital’s two international airports on November 25 to December 3 leaving hundreds of thousands of foreign tourists stranded. More protestors went on a rampage in Bangkok on April 13 burning vehicles and clashing with rivals until the army cracked down on the mayhem which prompted travel warnings for tourists from a score of countries. The Thai capital has not witnessed such low occupancy rates since the 1997 Asian financial crisis the Jones Lang LaSalle report said.

After yesterday’s performance Annissa has a virtual lock on the Quiksilver Thailand Surf Series in both divisions going into the third and final event that will be held at her home break of Kata Beach from September 4-6 having won the Junior division in the first event of the series and getting second in the Womens. She is sponsored by Quiksilver South East Asia. After her Women’s final the diminutive powerhouse admitted to being a tad tired saying “Towards the end I did get a little tired because I got a couple of good waves so it was long paddle back out. ” When asked how she felt about winning two divisions in one day she replied “I didn’t really expect to win the Juniors again because liver is such a good surfer and I won over him the last time. He just didn’t get any good waves I think.

We continue to adjust our operations to fit the dynamic competitive landscape and the new shopping and booking behaviors that our guests and travelers in general have adopted over the past year. ”The Castle Group’s second quarter finances included an 18 percent increase to $701978 in management and service fee revenue reflecting new properties being managed by Castle.
